one shot to glory…

This photograph shows the New Zealand Soccer squad who qualified for the 1982 World Cup. As was typical of sportsmen in the early 1980s, most of the players – 13 out of 20 – have moustaches or beards.
I was 11 years old in 1982 and the above 20 players have been soccer folklore ever since.
This photograph shows the 2009 All Whites squad who on Nov 14th in Wellington play Bahrain in a match where the winner takes “all”. That “all” being a trip to South Africa for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
They are 90 minutes away from re-writing history. So com’on NZ, its time for everyone to get together and cheer our team into football history. To immortalize this opportunity and etch themselves into the memory of every 11year boy or girl…who are sick of the All Blacks choking.
