lor gold chronicle day 3
Posted by timezoneone
I’m on a United flight right now heading for Denver. I will arrive around 11am (Mountain Time) to get ready for a meeting with Ken Chaplin and Charlie at 2pm. I want you all to know that I feel like I’m travelling with each one of you in Christchurch and Chicago. Maybe travelling United has a whole new meaning for me. It was a year ago we presented cardboard world and a funny combo of words born out of copy–proven feel good–that goofy enough to isolate and pitch out as a strap line. That was when “The Revolution” was born, burped and tenderly wrapped in swaddling cloth. It was a year ago I met some of my new friends in a dingy little house in a funky little neighborhood in Boulder. I learned quite a few things in that house–Richie’s and Tim’s Kiwi ability to live quite nicely on one hour of sleep, Murray’s ability to derive essential nutrients from Gin, and Raewyn’s ability to sound cheerful even when there doesn’t seen to be any apparent reason to be so cheerful–these were just a very few of many lessons learned. But the most important lesson learned was how incredibly talented and driven and smart and proud this entire TZO group is. I learned this a year ago and it has been reconfirmed everyday since. So here we all are on the plane together with an airline breakfast for just one in front of us. It doesn’t look that good so I guess we’ll all pass.
