breaking news: timezoneone gutterballs take out best dressed team
Posted by timezoneone under random, New Zealand
A big thank you goes out the Ronald McDonald House for putting on a great bowling night enjoyed by all.
The team from TimeZoneOne didn’t embarass themselves and put on a sterling effort, finishing 4th (or 5th, maybe 6th) out of 14 teams. “Marky” Mark Cornellison led his funky bunch to “best dressed team” glory, by organising the design and printing of the team t-shirts, as for his bowling, he demonstrated a fine shank, consistently bowling everything to the right. Unluckiest bowler of the night goes to Rose, who picked up 9 pins four times in a row, 1 shy of a strike each time, Nigel “Secret Weapon” Foley stepped in for Rose and while he demonstrated no style at all he was effective.
Much was expected of TZ1 northern hemisphere connection and while Rob picked up a strike with his first bowl of the night it all went down hill from there. Matt saved his best till last, fortunately by that time everyone had lowered there expectations of Matt’s prowess with the ball, so we were impressed that he managed to get out of the gutter - YES, Matt was the only one to pick up a double gutter ball on the night for TZ1. Lisa broke a nail but solidered on and put in a solid performance. Finally team star Tim tried to keep the team together, picking up 7 strikes for the night but in the end even he threw down a couple of gutterballs as well.
A round up of the scores are as follows:
Mark “a little to the right” Cornellison : 95 and 110
Rose “9 Pins” Carson / Nigel ” Secret Weapon” Foley: 79 and 99
Lisa “Lucky Strike” Lye: 91 and 77
Matt “Double Gutterball” Herivel: 99 and 100
Rob “First Strike” MacDonald: 102 and 80
Tim “High Scores both times” Chapman: 136 and 131
Finally here is one of teams more inglorious moments (not really us, we at least bowled along the ground).
Tim.
