fluffy bunnies, fooze news and sneak peeks
Posted by timezoneone under Miscellaneous
This weekend is Easter, which means New Zealanders get a four day weekend. The exception to this is the super committed zoners who will come in on Friday and Saturday morning to cover the US business day. Traditionally we eat Hot Cross Buns on Good Friday and Easter Eggs on Easter Sunday (which the Easter Bunny hides in the garden). So it is really just a thinly veiled excuse for eating too much chocolate! This is the earliest I can remember Easter falling, and it is the second earliest day it can fall. It won’t fall on March 23 again until 2160.
fooze news
First a quote from the captain of this weeks winning team.
“It was inevitable that Team Roketz would obliterate the competition and come out on the top of the table this week.”
Moving up from sixth place due to a team withdrawal, fifth placed team ‘Rox’ has been planning a takeover of the number one spot, but has yet failed to come up with a successful plan. Lack of practice and game time could be a major issue here.
Fun fact of the week: Foozeball is the german word for football. Unfortunately I have to use phonetic spelling because the German word uses a letter i have never seen before.
sneak peak – employee of the week
It is a tough decision. Should I base this on merit, and choose the staff member who had made an outstanding contribution to enhance zoner life this week? Should I follow David’s lead and nominate myself, or bow to the pressure of the fans and continue David’s reign as employee of the week? All will be revealed in Saturday’s employee of the week special edition post…watch this space!
